and Experience

Founded in 1996 by a group of entrepreneurs, Gruppocinque is a Como-based company, acknowledged for its 100% Italian production of shuttle-woven and jacquard fabrics.
Its strength lies in the versatility enabled by direct control over the looms, which has allowed the company to evolve over time and establish itself on the market for the meticulous care and precision of its service.
Co-founder Lorella Paulotto took over as head of the company in 2014. Under her leadership, the group underwent a transformation that deeply influenced its DNA and future developments. Gruppocinque changed its course, redefining both its identity and its language, while highlighting the opportunities offered by the diverse characteristics of its structure.
The business thus became increasingly oriented towards innovation, research, and eco-sustainability. Its service offering grew more structured and contemporary, while its products became richer in content and creative cross-contamination — the result of a synergy between fibre research, weaving expertise, and finishing culture.
During this time, the company also invested in building a network of some of Italy’s top production partners. With the aim of fostering dialogue with younger generations, it initiated collaborations with emerging creative talents.
To meet market demands and present its offerings in a clear and structured way, the company has divided its fabric collections into two lines: Gruppocinque and Swing.
